This activity is great for young school-age children who are afraid of the dark. It will help them feel more comfortable with the dark, as they learn they can have some control over it.

Have your child close her eyes while you “hide” several play animals. You should be able to see them partially, so don’t cover them completely with anything.

Once you are ready, ask your child to open her eyes, give your child a flashlight, then turn off the lights. She will then point around the room and look for the animals.

When she is successful, she can hide some objects and you look for them!
