BUSINESS BASICS

            This six-hour course is a great place for a child care provider to get started. If you are considering going into the child care business, or would like a refresher curse in running your business, this training will be very helpful!  The course if designed to strengthen the skills and knowledge of home-based and center-based providers in the business owrld and will help providers effectively operate and manage their time, resources and paperwork.  During the training, ALIGN professionals will help you find solutions to meet your business and community needs through high quality care and industry-recognized best practices.

LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT

               This six-hour course is designed to strengthen a child care provider's leadership and management skills by first identifying their personal strengths as an individual and then recognizing potential areas for growth as a child care professional.  All employees working in the early childhood industry are welcome to attend this training.  Each participant will complete a Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) assessment.  The MBTI is one of the most widely used instruments for understanding human preferences, behaviors, and interactions.  Using the results from the MBTI assessment, ALIGN instructors will discuss how the participants' management and leadership styles can strengthen their career in child care.  Participants will also explore how to build a winning team by understanding and appreciating individual differences and using these differences constructively.

CRADLING LITERACY

                  The Cradling Literacy curriculum, developed by Zero to Three, is designed to enhance the skills of child care providers as they support early language and literacy development in children from birth to five years.  The main focus for this four-hour course will be on Early Language and Literacy Development, Active Learning Environments, and the importance of Cultural Differences and Family Relationships. This course is being offered to any child care owner, their staff members, parents and family members, as well as any other interested parties.
