Assure quality care for preschoolers by teaching them respect
Children love to be helpful and they love to play in the water. Every afternoon, I tell my class the toys need a bath before the weekend so that they will be clean to start school on Monday. We put up tubs of warm soapy water, warm rinse water and towels on the table and the children choose a job; bringing the toys and wiping the shelves, washing the toys, rinsing the toys, drying the toys, putting toys away and organizing. They can take turns and switch jobs as they so desire. If they want to switch jobs, they have to ask their friend and learn to bargain and compromise for what they want.
