Plan a Green Eggs and Ham almost slumber party. Invite your child’s playmates (and their Mothers) to come over to your house in their pajamas. For refreshments, the group can cook green scrambled eggs and ham of course! After eating, everyone can get comfortable while you read Green Eggs and Ham. You can also invite each child to bring their favorite Dr. Seuss book for their Mom to read to the group. For an activity, you can have each child make a paper chain necklace using red and white construction paper and clear tape. (This is a nice opportunity for preschoolers to practice cutting on a straight line. Use child safe scissors and a marker, so that the line is very distinct. You may have to cut the strips for younger preschoolers.) Attach a heart to the front of the necklace using tape, and write, “My favorite Dr. Seuss book is _____.” You can also play pin the hat on the cat!

For invitations, help your child draw a large sunny side up egg. In the middle of the yolk, have your child draw her face complete with a Dr. Seuss hat! Now, add a rhyming header such as, “Watch out! Dr. Seuss is on the loose! And you’re invited.”
