My granson

My grandson is 3 and in childcare. He seems to get an upper respiratory infection every couple of weeks. He's been in the same childcare center for almost a year now and he's been to a couple of doctors, both say the same thing...that he's just developing an immune system and he'll keep getting these. It seems excessive to me and I was just wondering if anyone else has gone through the same? Thanks.

No allergies - Date 4/18/2009

They haven't diagnosed him with any allergies so far, in fact that hasn't even been suggested since the first time he was at the doctor. He just had yet another infection and they did do a chest x-ray this time..it was negative, but at least they are trying. I will keep allergies in mind for his next one. Thanks for the reply.

Allergies? - Date 4/14/2009

Sometimes Upper Respiratory infections are related to allergies. Does your grandson have any? Pet dander? Foods? Tobacco use? Their systems ARE building up their immunity to viruses and germs, but it may be something else that is related to the cause.
