    ·         Masking tape

    ·         White construction paper

    ·         Crayons or markers

Using pieces of masking tape (a couple of inches long) make the shape of a star on a white construction paper (two stars at opposite ends).  Give the child blue and red crayons or markers and have the color the construction paper (the can color over the stars as well).  When the child has finished coloring, help him pull the tape off the paper.  Now you have a flag of strips and stars.
