What does “Quality time” with my preschooler look like?
Preschoolers need a lot of practice cutting, stringing, drawing, and gluing in order to develop the small muscles in their hands and fingers in perpetration for writing skills. Draw a large 9 inch circle on white construction paper and a large triangle on red construction paper. Have your preschooler cut them out. Give your preschooler glue and have him glue the hat (red triangle) to the head (white circle). With marker or crayons he/she can draw eyes, nose, and mouth. He can glue cotton balls to the bottom of the face for beard and edge of the hat for decorations.
